UH Agricultural Extension, Research & Pathways
University of Hawaiʻi (UH)
Workforce Development
HIAP Strategy:
The proposed project brings together six collaborating teams from across the UH system:
College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources (CTAHR), UH-Manoa
GoFarm Hawaii, a CTAHR Extension Program (GFH)
Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC)
College of Agriculture, Forestry, & Natural Resource Management (CAFNRM), UH-Hilo
Pacific Aquaculture & Coastal Resource Center (PACRC), a division of CAFNRM
Hawaii Community College (HawCC)
Together, the UH coalition will: 1) Build vital extension and outreach services to address the current landscape and industry needs; 2) Engage in place-based research to support indigenous and diversified crops and value-add agricultural production; and 3) Expand and innovate the spectrum of workforce pathways from our institutions into the agricultural cluster to meet critical and emerging industry needs.
